hill-flag.jpg (29883 bytes)

June 1968 saw the Boscombe apprentices in an Amsterdam tournament, the 15 man squad represented the club in
Rotterdam for the first overseas venture in the clubs history.
Although Boscombe's fine run in the tournament ended with a 2-1 defeat in the final against CVV Rotterdam John Hill who was captain picked up a runners up trophy.
Left shows John(No5) flying the flag and also picking the
runners up trophy. Rave write-ups were given about the event:

Hills leadership and example was from the top shelf.

Directors Cliff Pardy and Harold Walker who went on the tour
both said how were proud they were of the club and players.

Although John only played four first team games for AFCB
he made well over 200 Combination appearances.

John was at the club for over seven years, and at 22 couldn't establish a first team place so signed for Weymouth on March 4th 1971. John also played for Holt and Poole Town.

Many thanks to John for letting us look into his career
